Tried Olympus TCON-17 on my FZ10, tell you man, superb. Vignetting diminish beyond 6X zoom, aperture stay constant throughout from 420mm to 700mm. No problem with sharpness when handheld at full 20X zoom. The OIS is definitely flexing. Definitely a good investment(((& value for money when you compare original pana converter which cost S$669 and only 1.5X)))when taking wildlife shots and Moon shots.

TC also termed as teleconverter, is used as an additional attachment to the front of the camera lens to enhance its optical zoom capability.
For example, i have an TC with a magnification factor of 1.7X, when added to my FZ10 will bring its optical zoom from 12X to (12 x 1.7 =) 20.8X zoom
Focal length F 420mm x 1.7 = 714mm

Don't really understand much about the statistic figures. However, seesm like it's fantastic after adding the TCON- 17. Hence, am willing to try it as well. You mean even without a tripod, it's excellent.

How much is the TCON 17 then?? Do I need ot buy any adaptar at all ???

I got the TC from MS color priced at $160, bargained to $138. You would definitely need an adapter to fit the TCON17 with 55mm tread. You can check out the link for more details.
Basically, the length of the TC is 31mm, which is designed in such a way that when the lens is fully extened when power up, it flushes with the opening of the TC which is why there is absolutely no vignetting effect at all when flash is used. FYI, the pana plastic adapter protrude ~1/2" out.

Alternatively, you can find out more from <www.dpreview.com> under panasonic forum.
i've the yoshida '1055B' meant black and they have the silver ones - '1055S'

Is the adaptor available in Singapore?? I thought it's only online order right???

Using the adaptor when at wide angle -- is there any vignetting ?? Have you tried using wide angle lens??

Cool! Thanks for the enlightenment.

I assume that you attached the TC via the lense hood from FZ10?

I am keen to get one, but looking at what Pana currently has, I don't think it is enough...

You need the adapter as what i'm currently using, refer to the link to find out more. You would not want to use the plastic hood as it cannot hold the weight of the TC and also you will get vignetting effect as the lens barrel is 1/2" or more(+ step ring from 62 to 55mm) away from the TC. Magnification factor will be diminished.

Got mine from oversea package, doubt anyone selling in S'pore.
Go to the link and there's an email icon to contact Mr Yoshida, he will guide you on using Paypal services.
I've tried Olympus 'WCON-08', again superb!, no vignetting at all at full wide. Zoom in 16X to the edge to find grey area, cannot find!
Quoted $160 but still considerng to get or not. Anyway, i'm into nature shoot, that's why i've gotten the TC.

Do you have a pic of how a camera look with the teleconverter? If you are to attach it on the camera, won't the orginal zoom lens touch the teleconverter? Hmm.. does the optical zoom increase like from 1-12 it increases to 1-20 or does it increase from 1-12 to 1.7-20? Trying to understand how it works.

Might travel overseas to get 1 after looking at the picture of the moon, it looks really GOOD!!
