but firstly i am not using Photoshop ... my netbook cant really do it.
secondly, i use online editing - picnik still pretty new at in ...

SO in general i dunno wats ND and also the others .. Sighz ..
    i like this photo ...

Ya i have problem with the dark faces too
PICNIK doesnt allow me to select only the face and lighten it ..
I think photoshop is a very useful tool when comes to pp...there's a highlight/shadow adjustment function tt can help you improve a little on your overexposed sky and too darkened shadow...definitely a useful tool to learn if you are keen on photography...those filters Grad ND, ND, CPL are really filters for dslr lens..haha...I don't tink you can use one on your LX3...thus, you will need to compensate exposure + check histogram dilligently...

there were times when I got lazy and used my own judgement on the LCD without referring to histogram...I threw most of the shots..wahaha...dun frustrate yourself this way...

overall i think i understand what you are trying to explain, but just .. erm CPL?
    :>
a simple search with google would've gotten you the answer.
CPL = circular polariser, a filter that you fit in front of the lens.
On an LX3, you'll be required to get some filter adapters first. I've asked before. Quite pricey.

I think photoshop can apply an effect similar to having the filter. hahaha cheap n dirty trick!
    Exploring! :)

agreed! TS, learn to use photoshop first and you will find that you can do more than the online edit prog. Note the use of word "similar". Thus, for best result, you must get the metering right first...needs practice...

Can i check with you IF ... netbook can work with PHOTOSHOP??
    ha ha ha
    Super tempted now!! ...

ya i am very confused with the metering and also the red-letterings on the lx3 screen when like something went wrong ... need to do more hands on practice and read up ... but ... photo editing also take up a lot time ... .

    so i should conclude
this is - expensive hobby + time consuming .... but nice photo will = satisfaction?
