There is one great website called GOOGLE

EF = for both Full Frame and Cropped.

EFS = made specially for cropped. some EFS can be used on a FF with heavy corner darkening

Misleading my friend. All EF-S lenses cannot be mounted on FF cameras... it's just that people modify to make them mount-able and usable on FF.

may be he meant by 3rd party lenses that are made specifically for cropped bodies that are mountable on FF bodies...

Thanks for clarifying, appreciate that .

The point is.. it's doable and you will have significant vignette depending upon focal length and aperture.
EF lens may give you vignette also.... if you are missing vignette then just stack one UV and one CPL and try at lower focal length

    why dont u get a 18-200mm, 18-250mm or 18-270mm?
your is a cropped body, so i doubt that 28mm is wide enough for you.

if you are on full frame like a 5D2 or 1Ds3.

Otherwise something like 15-85 or 18-200 might be better.

    TS camera is 450d.. *swt*

15-85 price is too steep, but if u can afford it, why not? it's a good lens btw

It all depends upon how much wide is wide for you.

To some people, 28mm (45mm) is no way wide... to some people OK lah!!

To some people 16/17mm (28mm) is wide enough.

To some people like me, 10/11mm (18mm) is not wide enough

It's same like "Money not Enough"

It all depends upon your own style.

For me, in last three years, I have not used more than 10 times my 28-135. I am waiting for my FF to complement 28-135.

Note : the inside bracket values () are for 1.6 cropped bodies like yours.

That is assuming and hoping the mirror doesn't crash into the back of the lens when you trip the shutter. I won't try it with my equipment, that's for sure.

it wont... coz 3rd party lens makers didnt bother to put that protruding butt on their cropped body lenses.

For those who are questioning a cropped lens on a FF body, please read here

It does not say that it will not work or will damage anything. It says "If such an element is used with these lenses vignetting will occur on the picture surface."

If the link does not work then visit http://www.sigmaphoto.com/dc-lens-compatability-chart

Same goes for Tokina and many Canon EFS Lenses

hi hyori, a bit off topic if you dont mind me asking...actually how many person is using your account?
if you dont sell off your 17-50 and 18-135, both of them are good lenses for travelling..

Yes. Whether the resulting Field of View is useful to you is entirely your call. I hope you understand that 'crop factor' is something related to sensor size, not the lens. The focal length of a lens is defined by the optical characteristics of the glass elements. The sensor size of the camera brings in the crop effect.

28-135 IS USM EF is a trusty old workhorse that puts out very decent results

Used mine on the old film EOS bodies, the 350D and the 1Ds with no issues

But it does come with a very large front lens element and filter size of 72mm
