    have you thought of heading to padang and do panning shots for NDP's mobile column?

    I think techniques and settings differ for both tracking and panning. panning is a bit harder as you are position on fixed place and following the car at quite a fast speed.

    while tracking is like when you're moving the same speed, parallel to the car you're shooting. most of your shots should be tracking (i could be wrong).

    well... if thats the definition of panning and tracking, then i am panning... most of the shots are taken while my feet is standing still and fellow the vehicle by twisting my waist..

    i say MOST, becoz there is 1 shot that is really tracking, volkswagen jetta.... tat was taken when i am on a bus, eventhough i am on the bus, the car is still at a faster speed, so still need abit of twisting of waist to take tat shot

    tracking is not necessary easier, as both car need to have same speed, need good co-ordination... but the result from tracking will be better, as we may get to see the front of the car (depend on how u plan the shot), while panning mostly we can see is the side, unless the driver is drifting, then maybe can get some front view panning
