Mods - If u think this thread does not belong to the Nikon corner pls do move it to the appropriate corner
I was trying to come up with an idea to make use of my existing Sony F32X for the D70...tried reading the manuals but to no avail... even though they mentioned that it utilises the Electronic Hotshoe (which is available on the D70) I have tried using the various methods to attach the flash but always get "Connect" error message on the flash unit...even connecting the flash by manual mode also got same problem Any gurus around can advise?? * cos if the $30 brandless flash can be used on the D70, there is no reason why this "stupid" flash from Sony will give problems ![]() |

Sony uses proprietary technology to trigger the flash.

A Vivitar 285HV made 20 years ago would work
some of the not so old flash support only TTL and can't work with D70 which supports only new "i-TTL" TTL mode. |

Tried my old Metz 36C-2, which I used for my S602Z, and it seems to fire. But that's it, no red-eye/repeating/rear-curtain functionality I think.
Btw, a bit late to ask, but will this "trial" spoil the circuitory as Nikon described in her manual? ![]() |
