There are many examples of lenses costing more than a D70 body. Another good one would be the 70-200mm f2.8 VR lens. Buy both of these lenses alone can buy almost 3 sets of D70 body liao.

Yes!! Me too!!

Frankly if you are buying this lens solely because of it F2.8 max aperture, then I don't think it's worth it when compared to the 18-70 F3.5-4.5 DX aka the D70 "kit" lens. F2.8 is only 1/3rd stop brighter than F3.5, which is the max aperture at the 18mm, and it is only 1 1/3rd stop brighter at 55mm. And don't forget the "kit" lens can go on to 70mm.

I think those who buy it will look beyond just the max aperture and more at it's "constant" aperture and also the build quality, being Japanese made such.

if your threshold for risk is higher, I suggest buy grey from HK via the various MO at $2650 versus the $3000 plus here.

In addition, most Mo have 7 days 1to1 exchange.

I bought mine at 2.9k and I should have done it via MO....

Your mileage may differ
