Frankly if you are buying this lens solely because of it F2.8 max aperture, then I don't think it's worth it when compared to the 18-70 F3.5-4.5 DX aka the D70 "kit" lens. F2.8 is only 1/3rd stop brighter than F3.5, which is the max aperture at the 18mm, and it is only 1 1/3rd stop brighter at 55mm. And don't forget the "kit" lens can go on to 70mm. I think those who buy it will look beyond just the max aperture and more at it's "constant" aperture and also the build quality, being Japanese made such. |

if your threshold for risk is higher, I suggest buy grey from HK via the various MO at $2650 versus the $3000 plus here.
In addition, most Mo have 7 days 1to1 exchange. I bought mine at 2.9k and I should have done it via MO.... Your mileage may differ |
