I will buy, but not at THAT price.

I will not even think of it. It makes no sense to pay at that price for that capacity while you can buy a server of 80G with full licence for 5 computers.

hmmm.. well, it's equivalent to a Vertu phone or a G4 Titanium 17" with spares for wireless mouse and airport express definitely a 42" Plasma 2 10D bodies with grip and some more to spare

Neh.... wun get it coz it's too risky to lose 8GB of data all at one shot

yea I guess it will, not will that price anyway...

but don't think many people will take it up. for me, i prefer not to put all my eggs in one basket, so to speak.
even if it costs slightly more, I would get a few 1GB cards to store.

hmmm..... can the camera read 8GB?

can the camera support the speed?

At that price, rather buy cheap slower cards and a D2H or MKII for its buffer.

No way would I use anything over 512mb as there's too much danger of loosing irreplaceable shots. Most of my wedding photographer friends are running 30-40 x 256MB cards.

I won't buy it for 2 reasons, at least for now. The price and hate to loose 8gb of images should it fail.

    I would not buy because:

    1) It is too expensive, I might as well buy two X drives and get one to back up the other then still got money for addition photo equipment

    2) It is far from being safe, should it crash it will be the end of my pics

    3) Should it get lost, well.... not only the warranty does not come in (unlike if it crashes) but you lose the thing and your pics as well

    4) It's worth a few 1GB ones and I really mean A FEW

    5) Wonder what is the resale value of this thing, will probably be losing around 30-50%, 30% of 1K is 300 bucks, 30% of 6K is 1.8K!!!

So, I think quite a bad marketing strategy to produce and sell this at that price. My 2 cents worth

What a waste of money. I'd buy it if it was $300.
