Default Using Old flash with D70

Just tried out my 'antique' Starblilz with the D70, it doesn't flash.

have been browsing thru the manual, but ????

can someone advise? The flash is still in working condition, bcos i have tested out with my old F50.

Thanks

You will only probably be able to use it in M mode.. or A mode.. only my guess.. never used the flash mentioned..

set your flash to M (if your flash have that mode). u do not need to press the flash button on your D70. i tried canon flash in P,A,S,M and there's flash, but no TTL

you tried the modes on the camera. I meant that you try the modes on the flash. there should be a knob or something for you to slide around.

Hotshoe no problem one lar. Sometimes the flash just doesn't flash. Had this problem before, bought the flash and just won't flash. Changed the flash and ok. BTW, i am talking about manual flash.

Try what mpenza suggested, test with M and A mode on the flash.

Thanks guys for all the advise.

I actually tried all possiblilities, camera settings & flash settings.

My flash, got spider-web type, many years old, only got simple setting like TTL, OFF, etc....not so advanced like what u guys are using, i suppose.

maybe now can find excuse to get the SB-800 or soon to release SB-600

i hope it is not the hotshoe that is the problem, will bring down to CP to test it out with a flash there.

THanks again

I think there should be a Nikon council meeting on wed at the regular coffee place... why don't you drop by and let gadrian test your camera for you? Just a coffee for ALL of us will do... heehee...

After that I can accompany you to CP for a *ahem* SB-800 ?
