Default Firmware question

Dear all,

Anyone knows whether there is a firmware upgrade from the original D100 firmware?

Where do we do it?

How much is it?

How long does it take?

Any other info welcome!

Thanks!!!

There are two versions to upgrade if I remember, from v1 to 1.2 and then to v2.0, both upgrades have to be done at the Nikon customer centre @ Shiroro House.

If it's under warranty, yes it's free, think should take about 5-10mins, almost the same as CCD cleaning

Perhaps those that did the upgrade can verify

My warranty ran out, does anyone know if Harvey Norman does it? How about CCD cleaning?

Else how much does it cost for either?

I think it's $75 for CCD cleaning if I'm not wrong, Harvey Norman only warranties on your parts I think, and you must have their extended warranty if you purchased the camera from them. They actually send in to Nikon and bear the costs for you. I'm not too sure if they cover CCD cleaning & firmware upgrading.

I got the extended warranty alright....

I guess I'd better ask tomorrow and find out about those two services!

All the best for you, hopefully it doesn't require sending in to HN and then they ship to Nikon and then back, this will take awfully long

Yeah, they can do that when I send it in tomorrow to fix my focussing, and beg them on my knees to let me have it by next weekend.
