Default B+W XS-PRO UV HAZE filter (slim)

just bought it on Sun, notice there is a thin layer of creamy thing on the inner of the filter, i try remove it using a camera cloth and lens paper, it seems cannot be removed, it fact it attract dust on it, is it normal?

or should i dip the whole filter into water and wash with soap to remove the creamy thing?

    all advice will be appreciated.

The creamy thing is called grease.

Bring it back to where you bought the filter and get it exchanged. problem solved.

i have no time to do the exchange as bought in KL, anyway just wash it with soap, rish with water, then wipe using a clean cloth. now the filter is non gleasy and clean.

by the way, is it normal for the greasy thing to be there, or have i just wash away the multi coated layer?

Would you pay 100 bucks or more for a filter where the coating comes off when cleaning? You can google for the details of coating but it needs more than water and soap to remove it.
