    Default Subject against bright sunlight?

Hi! all. i was shooting some frz today & found that some pix were over exposed cause my frz was posing against strong sunlight & she was standing inside the corridor of a building. to ensure such things don't happen again, what would be the ideal settings to set for my future attempts? I have photoshop CS3. any way to fix the pix there?

exposure value of the sky and your subject are far too great to record on the sensor,
no magic setting can squeeze two EV together,

    use fill flash or photoshop

Try and position the sun/strong lighting behind you.

I took the picture below with a washed-out sky but use Photoshop to insert the blue sky.

When using fill flash, make sure you dont over expose as the flash will lower down the shutter speed if you are using manual mode.
