    Default 3G USB Modem Dongle

Anyone knows where can I get a cheap 3G USB Modem Dongle (like those which Singtel, M1, Starhub is providing e.g. Huawei, Vodaphone)? I got a free SIM card for mobile broadband with my recent Starhub Maxonline Subscription but no USB dongle. Thank you.

Sim Lim Square, get it from a reputable shop such as Bell Systems, Bizgram, Fuwell etc. etc. if you are afraid to get chop.

is it faster to use a delicated dongle?

currently i am using a old 3G phone with M1 data plan, wonder if it will make a different if i get a newer 3.5G phone with HSDPA?

or the bottleneck lies with the network itself?

no different. dongle or newer 3.5G phone make data flow faster only. but the actual fact, the bandwidth still remains the same and Service provider have CAP that to a limit.

mine is the 7.2M plan, but i am using only a 3G phone as a modem to surf net on laptop.

theortically, I should get faster speed with 3.5G connection. But i wonder if the signal strength will be the bottleneck.

Then does anyone know if I used a Singtel dongle and plug in a Starhub Sim card, with the Singtel dongle software, will I be able to connect to starhub?

Yes, it works. I am using this method after my contract ended with singtel and got a free mobile boardband from Starhub after renewing my max online.
