asking for a friend who bought an EOS 300D to mount on his microscope...
does the EOS300D have a mirror lockup function? I had initially thought it could do mirror pre-fire, but I can't find it... |

its probably not necessary, if i remember correctly, as long as your shutter speed is either faster or slower than this range 1/15th - 1 sec, then mirror slap will not affect you.
and furthermore, at microscope range, it will probably have no effect, since the "shock" blur affects telephoto more. *someone tested it with a laser* |

The 300D does not have MLU but if you look at this Clubsnap thread it discusses a Russian firmware hack which enables mirror lockup! I have not tried this (I have a 10D) but other clubsnappers are reporting that it works. |
