Tried to search for the info but could not find, my apologies if this qtn has already been answered before oki?

I have a Nikon SB-22s and am wondering if it can used on the Canon 300D?

Seeing as third party flash manufacturers like Sigma and Metz have to use different shoe adaptors to fit Nikon or Canon, the answer is probably no. Not sure if anybody makes a Nikon to Canon adaptor as they do for lenses, although I'd doubt if it was worth the trouble.

Cheers,

U will probably need to mask off all the pins beside the centre pin to make it work as a auto flash.

you could use it as an auto flash. voltagewise, it's not an issue as Nikon flash generally have very low trigger voltages.

Thanks everyone! Hmm it would seem that it is actually not a very compatible flash for Canon then? Not sure what auto-flash means...can the flashlight still measure the light that has been cast on the object?

Gosh, I didn't know that ! Sorry for the misinformation, learn something new every day. No metering then I suppose?

For compatibility and support issues later, I suggest you give up the idea. Get the same brand name for flash and body.

22s has 4 non-ttl auto modes. just set the samera and flash to the same aperture and ISO setting and the flash sensor will measure the light reflected back from the subject and cut off accordingly.

but have to say that I've not mounted Nikon flash on Canon body before.... might be safer to tape the pins just in case as suggested by xdivider.
