Comment about the canon fs4000 film scanner

Hi ,

Just pop down to canon today to try out the canon filmscanner (fs4000)

Any comments about the scanner ?

Some sample from the scanner @ 500 dpi (very small res though

Good resolution but not enough dynamic range.

Hmm .. how to tell whether the dynamic range is good or not ?

Get some properly exposed Velvia with a large range of tones, black to white. Scan it on a good scanner and a mediocre scanner. Check for shadow and highlight details.
