You may want to note that it's "Lijiang", not "Liqiang", and the direct translation of that snow mountain is "jade dragon snow mountain" (yu4 long2 xue3 shan1). Thank you (yes, I've been there).

Just read your description. You're so right to say China is more than Beijing and Shanghai. And I agree, Lijiang is worth a 2nd visit...so much beauty there.

Wow very nice. I went there last Dec and was fascinated by Yunnan and all the different tribes there. (There are 26 tribes living in Yunnan) I think you did the same tour as me: Kunming->Dali->Lijiang->Jade Dragon Snow Mountain->Shangrila->Kunming?
