Review of lens with samples at the last page.

You're really not good at using google, are you?

Since you are using D5K, AFD 50mm can use but it cant AF.
So AFS 35mm suits your cam more... but i do not know if it suits you.

Do a search on the 35mm, read about it. you will appreciate more.

    I am looking on 35mm f1.8 too.
I heard the crop factor end up also become 50mm.
Wonder there is any different between the manual 50mm f1.8 and 35mm f1.8.

what do you mean "also become 50mm"
If you're saying (and I'm guessing here) that AFS DX 35/1.8G and AF 50/1.8D, when mounted on the same DX (cropped) camera, will give the same field of view, then you're mis-informed.

Difference between 50/1.8 and 35/1.8? 1 is 50mm and the other is 35mm!
1 is FX compatible and 1 is only for DX, but on a DX camera it makes no difference.

Yah. it is about the x1.5 crop factor on it for DX camera.

    yup...
as long as you know that the 35/1.8 and the 50/1.8 when they are mounted on your camera, will give different field of view.

35/1.8 on a DX camera gives field of view like 52.5mm lens on FX camera.
50/1.8 on a DX camera gives field of view like 75mm lens on FX camera.

    Btw, 50 1.8 will not AF on a D5000.

And a 50 1.8 should have a little more bokeh. But i prefer the 35 1.8, find it sharper than my 50 1.8 ai not sure about the af-d version though.

Here's some shot showing it's bokeh

I heard reviews saying that it produces low quality bokeh

ZerocoolAstra: tks! that is what i want to know.

Treetrunk: correct. 50mm cant AF. 35mm is for D5000 user that cant use 50mm. I personal holding a 50mm, having a little problem using it but gd learning for me for manual.

hartzdevil: Sorry for intercept. 35mm for D5000 user
