Unhappy Olympus C5050 Macro Photography

Hi,

I have a C5050 and just bought a Hoya +4 Closeup Filiter to try my hand at macro photography and would need some tips on how to take great pictures of insects.

I have tried to take some pictures of ants but it seems that the magnification wasn't that great like those shown in the forum... real closeup...

I have try manual focusing, apeture priority and all sorts of setting but the picture are not really closeup.

What would be the proper setting for macro closeup shooting of insects using the C5050Z with the Hoya +4 closeup filter? I want to be able to take picture like those showing the hairs on the leg of an insects or its wing structure.

Please advise.

Many thanks.

Yes I did... I know about the super macro function and I more interested in getting a macro closeup of insects without having to get close to 3cm of it.
