Rangefinders and Compacts For the 35mm purists

Default new to range finders

since its not an slr, how does one focus a rangefinder? i gather that i look through the view finder and then what do i do with the actuall lens?

when you look through the viewfinder, you'll see the actual image and a "ghost" image. (double image). adjust the focusing ring until both images merge and only 1 image is visible. this means it's in focus.
