Default Sunrise point in Cameron Highlands?

    Hi Friends,

Which is the best sunrise spot in Cameron Highlands for photography keeping tea garden in foreground?

I cannot say which is best, but there are two main tea plantations you can try, the Bharat and Boh Tea Plantations.

Buses from Tanah Rata leave for these two location only after sunrise, so you might need to arrange alternative transport if you want to arrive before time.

You might also want to consider a sunrise tour at the high point (2000 plus metres) of Gunung Brinchang, many tour agents can arrange that for you.

Hi, my friends & I were there just 2 weeks ago... - http://www.facebook.com/francisl?ref...4&id=673590974

Sunrise is slightly to 7am with low mist & we positioned ourselves just after the turn at the look-out point, Boh Tea plantation. Forget about the high point at the tower... scene too distance & mountainous but will be a good 2nd location after sunrise shoot.

Head to the mossy forest for its ultra cool cool trekking with lots of photo opportunties, from macro to landscape to portraiture.

We chartered a van from Mr Ravi Velusamy, Mobile: 016-5197886, 012-5983886, email-jadecameronhideaway@yahoo.com

It cost 6 of us 300RM for 9hours with driver.

In fact, we're having a photo presentation today - http://www.facebook.com/event.php?ei...3834161&ref=mf

Do sms me 94796311(after 12:15pm pls) if you're coming as this is a close-door event.

    Cheers!

@Francis - Thanks for the invitation. Wont be able to make it today.

Is it BOH tea Plantation or Sungei Palas Tea Plantation? Sungei Palas is at the higher altitude right? Also is there dedicated look-out point (view point) of plantation?

Someone told me the spot is near to the turning junction point heading to Gunung Brinchang(left) and Sg Palas BOH plantation (straight).

I believe the Boh Tea Plantation and Sungei Palas Plantation (SPP) are referring to the same site.

Yes, Gunung Brinchang is at turn off to a road leading to the Boh Tea (SPP).

There is a lookout/cafeteria over the Boh Tea plantation, same for the Bharat plantation. An elevated highway road fringes the Bharat Plantation and provides more photography points overlooking the plantation.

This was taken from the cafeteria of Bharat, you can get an even higher view if you stand on the side of the highway.

you can go to kea farm... near equatorial hotel there is a market place and there is a road leading all the way inwards..

there is a paid tourist attraction at the end of the road and you are able to climb all the way up... the view point is rather good and if i never remember wrongly it's even higher than top of equatorial hotel...

i took a hike at one of the hills at the Orang Asli village to get a pure "mineral water - waterfall"
once youre at the peek, you will have a very beautiful view from the top.

It is the 'rose farm' or something similar. Yes slightly higher then EQ. But if not wrong only open around 9 am.

BOH got 2 tea plantation at Cameron, go the Sugai Palas. The spot is correct, but might be difficult to stop near there, you might need to walk back. (From the car park)

wow... you must really like it there!
Last time I was there was 1991 i think.

Any tips for the journey up, especially with regards to which road to take?

    My itinerary:
    Day 1: Sin - KL
Day 2: KL - Cameron Highlands
    Day 3: Cameron Highlands
Day 4: Cameron Highlands - Malacca
    Day 5: Malacca - Singapore

I'm familiar with KL but not north of that.

Haha, I prefer to use the Tapah exit and go up the winding road .... and I drive straight from SG to Cameron Highlands and always stay at The Lakehouse which is a boutique hotel and it is nearer Ringlet so doesnt make sense to use the other route , most other resorts and hotels are higher up.

Only thing I can think of is, if you are driving MPV and have kids, maybe take the other exit as the winding road, some people might get motion sickness .... or you let the kids sit in front.
