maybe we should shop together. or consult the dark side veterans together.

are there anymore advice from others? u know i'm kinda leaning towards 70% Canon and 30% Nikon. Maybe because I have yet to go on a shoot with a Nikon SLR user. If i decide to go for Canon as a start I shouldn't go wrong right?

    Buy prosumer.

If Canon, buy EOS 30. Lens not sure, but many are selling 28-105mm USM now...you can get one at around S$300 used.

You wouldn't go wrong with either F80 or EOS 30. Look at what lenses u plan to buy...then choose either system.

haha i know this is gonna sound damn stupid but i prefer the EOS 30 over the 300 coz I like the looks more. but seriously, what are the main differences between EOS 30, 300, 66, and those along these lines? I've printed out the specs of them all to slowly read through but can someone just give a quick summary? Will it make much of a difference between them? or shld i concentrate more on the lenses?

Although discontinued, this is a very capable camera and should last you for years to come. Within your budget too and have some money for a lens.

    Hi yeppie,

I bought my F80 2 months ago, and I am satisfied with the body. It has very good features for it's price. Maybe you want to consider prime lenses if you know what sort of photographic style you'll be doing.

I myself have the G lens that comes with the kit (useful range I think) and a 85mm 1.8D for portraiture. Just my thoughts only...hope can help

    Christoph
