Just referred to first clause of the rules & regulations.
"The theme of the competition is “Magic of Light”, however it is generally open." Er.. so is it themed "Magic of Light" or open? Last edited by mervlam; 4th April 2004 at 12:22 AM. |

as long as you produce graduation scroll............clause #??..........
to mervlam, theme != (not equals) categories of entry nor contributing factor for selection.............theme is there to represent our motivation for that year........ ps jiaqi, 2 yrs ago, i was informed i won a prize in a competition by another uni in the tiertary students category even though i was in NS.........got disqualified cos they said proof of entry not considered i am student..........but i will discuss with the com again on this loophole........hopefully can convince them that proof of acceptance means students or future students at that..........=> future NTU students also no problem.............we welcome ALL students..........=> EngHong

The Photographic Society of NUS is actively involved in bringing photographic techniques and knowledge to its members through courses and field trips. THEME: “Magic of Light” The theme aims to celebrate the magic that allows the capture of moments, which can be shared by all as works of art and genius. The general theme aims to encourage creativity, allowing the participants great freedom in the interpretation of the theme. To reach out to the student population, a student category has been provided. At the same time, a NUS category has been created for students, staff and alumni members of NUS to encourage them to showcase their works. Rules and Regulations 1. The general theme of the Exhibition is “Magic of Light”. 2. Only the residents of Singapore are eligible to participate. 3. This Exhibition is divided into 2 categories: (a) Student (b) NUS 4. Participants for the Student category must be full time students in educational institutions in Singapore. Participants for the NUS category must be students, staff or alumni member of NUS. (NUS students are excluded from the Student Category) 5. All students who are awaiting entry to universities or polytechnics may use their letter of acceptance as proof of full time students. 6. Both conventional and digital images are accepted. 7. Minimal digital manipulation (e.g. enhancement of colour, cropping) is allowed. However, adding or removing key elements of the composition is strongly discouraged. 8. Entries will be judged based on photographic techniques, creativity and originality. 9. The photographer must be the author and sole owner of the copyright of each photograph submitted for entry to the Exhibition. Entries submitted must not have won prizes in other competitions. 10. Photocopies of the entry form are acceptable. 13. There is no restriction on the number of entries for each person. 14. While every care is taken to ensure that the entries are handled carefully, the Photographic Society of NUS accepts no responsibilities for any loss or damages to entries. Proof of posting will not be accepted as proof of submission. 15. The type of camera, film or photographic medium used for the entry will not be a determining factor in the judging process. 16. The Photographic Society of NUS reserves the right to disqualify any entries, if it deemed that the contents are pornographic, or against public interest. 17. The panel of judges will judge all entries on an anonymous basis. Judging of the entries will be held on 29th May 2004 at SAFRA Bukit Merah and is open for public viewing. 18. Judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entertained. 19. The Photographic Society of NUS reserves the right to use the winning entries for publicity, or reproduce the images submitted for any artistic or meaningful purposes.
