Default Expo Disco

Was wondering whether any of the CS members use the Expo Disc. For me, I think it is rather an excellent tool.

i've tried all of those methods you can find in most forums (like dpreview. fred miranda..etc), but none worked as well as the ExpoDisc. for ExpoDisc, there areno replacement...others are just cheap substitutes that don't work too well.

but if you think that other methods works and results acceptable, good for you then.

so far, you can only get it online from their site. as for the size, normally a 77mm disc will be good...
i got mine in May last year, during their promo. so in total, i paid only USD79.95 for a 72mm disc (incl shipping - 72mm was the largest disc tat time)

hmm .. i dunno .. coz i was thinking of getting one which fits my smallest lens size, seeing that the smaller ones are cheaper ...

so when i calibrate my white balance, i can use use that lens to calibrate and shoot with whatever lens i wish after ... however ... this is just what i think ...

anyone interested in doing a mass order ?

anyone doing a MO?

Anyway, buying a smaller thread size saves $$ but wouldn't that allow direct light source to the lens? Unless we use step up rings?

richard - any ideas?

I have a lens size larger than 72mm. Can I still use the ExpoDisc?

Your camera meters only through the middle of the lens, making it possible to use a size ExpoDisc that is smaller than your camera’s lens size. You may even purchase a step-down adapter appropriate for your camera to fasten the ExpoDisc to your lens, however it is very convenient to simply hold the ExpoDisc in front of your lens to record your test shot and set WB.

I saw rcnw's posts on japan - man, good exposure! Sure worth getting this plastic but at US100+
