Who has luck in getting permission to shoot old people? Usually they reject you, cos I think they don't understand we are just hobbyists and not some reporters.

Depends on where you are shooting... in chinatown, they are quite ok. Most of the time at least.

I also quite scared to ask permission. Scared kena scold. Actually not to say scared, but somehow if the problem turns sour, I scared that person go ICU. lol. Also, I'm a dark bearded man...can see how they look at u...very one kind.

Anyways, I did bring up courage and ask permission. So far so good. They say OK!. Currently only 2 people la. haha. 1 bangla and 1 old lady. at least its a start!

Ahya...why so troublesome. I usually walk around on a Sunday morning in Chinatown. Snap snap here. Snap snap there. Some oldie will look at you, some will look away, some will cover their face with newspapers.

I think they are already so used to it that most will not complain. One thing that photographers ought to know is to show some respect to the subjects you are shooting. Give an acknowledgement or wave at them to thank them.

Interesting. It's refreshing to see his guerilla-styled street photography, and noticed he didn't even slowdown to check his results. This is really snap-on-the-move!

i think i've seen a lot of ah peks doing it in mrt when there is a xmm with a short skirt inside the train opposite them.

do not belittle the SMS PHOTOGRAPHER, it is a very valuable skill.

he is using film... how to check results?

anyways, notice that he does everything very calmly. like he has every right to do so. it's like he's shooting a landscape, it is fast, but he acts like he has all the time in the world, no sudden movements, no jerking.... that is the way you blend in.

Than its a good opportunity to take out the DSLR and take a pic of the ah peks, think they will no dare kick up a fuss without exposing themselves.
