"Those companies out there that have no experience producing film cameras have yet to create a camera that performs like a real camera should."
Haha, guess which company produces plastic toy cameras and yet dares to say this.

    101. Digital is better than film.
    102. Film is better than digital.
    103. You can achieve as good a result as any great pictures you saw as long as you know the settings used for those pictures.
As complexity rises, precise statements lose meaning and meaningful statements lose precision.

Add one more: Using BiG aperture for good bokeh is better than using small aperture, especially those who have big aperture lens; otherwise, use small aperture on a BiG lens is somewhat "wasted" lah.

The more I read, the more I realised most are sweeping statements. They are considered truths only when justified. By it's own, they cannot stand.

the biggest myth is that myths exist.

Most people who believe in myths do not take into consideration the qualifiers and take wholesale--hook, sinker and line--what they THINK is correct; or worse, what OTHERS think is correct.

I think, you thought, who confirm?

I say let's not OT and carry on debunking more myths of photography.

That medium format is better than 35mm.
That you must use a fully-manual camera/M mode to be a good photographer.

Default Ansel Adams and uncoated low end lenses.

To all the people raving about high end $$$$ pro lenses, Ansel Adams made many superb masterpieces using cheap low end *uncoated* lenses, remember those f/5.6 and f/7.7 Goerz Dagor "junk" lenses he used? For example, his "Dogwood" photo was made using a cheap 7" Goerz and "El Capitan, Winter" was made with a 9" Goerz Dagor and "Gates of the valley" was made using a poor Cooke lens. People laugh at these lenses today.
