    yes.

    Dun assume we can improve by taking lotsa pics without learning from mistakes. So taking loads of pics doesn't really mean one can improve. It only overload the storage.

    Nice qualification of the statement. I thought originally you meant that photography skill is one that cannot be trained, i.e. no matter how many shots you take, if you are not born with it, you can never take good picture!

    Anyway, IMHO, I think there's still a certain truth within the statement "the more pictures you take, the better you get". Think the myth statement should be, "machinegun-like taking of pictures is the key to produce quality pictures!"

    * you need the fastest lens to take better photos
    * you need the sharpest lens to take better photos
    * consumer zoom lenses ruin your photos
    * photography is an easy way to make money
    * taking good photos is easy
    * photography is all about the "decisive moment"
    * disposable cameras take lousy photos
    * amateur photographers can never take better photos than pro photographers
    * the human eye can resolve 40 lp/mm.
    * "grainy" photos are bad
    * a perfect camera/lens/brand does exist
    you can buy better gear but you can't buy a better eye

    "my camera can take better photographs than your camera."

    "don't worry, it's all set up, just aim and press this button." - it's never quite set up.

    film is dead.
