    Default 28-80mm F2.8 / 50mm F1.8 lens ??

    Help needed.....

    If I intend to get a 28-80mm F2.8 lens. Do I still need a 50mm F1.8 lens ?

Is there a lot that I would be missing using by 50mm F2.8 (from 28-80 F2.8) as compared to 50mm F1.8?

you really dun need unless you really really really need to shoot at 50mm in dark condition. F2.8 quite fast already....

optically prime lens of coz better... unless you need your subject? (product that sharp)
I do not see the need.

    Thanks Zekai, Clive...

I'll hold the 50mm f1.8 purchase till later then.

MooEy, there is a big price difference between the 2 lens.
    1) Sigma 28-70mm f2.8 ~ $640
    2) Nikkor 50mm f1.8 ~ $185

I'll prefer to go for the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 as compared to the Sigma 28-70mm f2.8. But i've heard that both lens are very good.
