Default Digital Cam w/Wide-angle Lens below 35mm

Never own a digital camera before, can somebody recommend a digital camera with wide-angle lens?

Looking for 2 units, one for my sister and myself.

    Budget $600 - $800 and the other $800 - $1k range.

    Thanks.

I have one Ricoh G4 Wide (28mm wide) 3MP which I might let go. It's still under warranty.... however, it's below your budget. Would you consider? I would bundle it with a long lasting rechargeable battery + charger.
