YAY its the taiwan puppets again.

    ok first, make 2 layers
i'll call it upstair layer and below layer
below layer use control +m, to adjust the curves. try playing around till u get the dark bg

now on the ontop layer, same thing except u get the bright puppet now.

now, on the ontop layer, click layermask
and just use a brush to brush till u get the effect u want. set the strength lower so u get a more gradual effect.

    and done!

k nvm. i realised its tough to do and take screenies ~~ shrugs.

and yes make 2 layers. one to make the image DARKER. one make BRIGHTER. use the ctrl+m key

now, on the UPPER layer, do a layer mask, and just brush till u get the stuff u wanna see done.

how to do layer mask?? i do a seach in google about layer mask...all it does is make the image turn black and white without color and the use brush to color the object that you want it appear..the rest is just black..

it doesn't really look photoshopped, it would be hard i think.

    k. layermask is just like making the layer an overlay. by brushing on the mask, u will hide tat part of the layer. and it doesnt turn it black and white =.=

"Layer Masks are one of the easiest features of Photoshop to understand. A Layer mask is just what it sounds like: a mask that goes on a layer. Think of what happens when a person wears a mask. You can see through the holes but not through the mask itself. It’s a great way to non-destructively hide parts of a layer. You will not lose any data and to go back to the original state you’ll just delete the mask."
