How to record an action in Photoshop version 6 ?
  1. Open a sample image file
  2. From the Actions window , click on the arrow button and select "New Action..." option

  3. Type in the Action Name (Any name you like)
  4. Click on Record button

  5. Any action will be recording into the action script
(Now you can do any editing to the image ... all actions will be recorded)
  6. Once finish , click on the stop button to end the recording

  7. Open the image and play back the action that you have just created to test the effect

i think he means the full ps version and not the ps elements version. Anyway, i found out how to use it. U've got to record a new action and then the next time u just need to play the action. i.e. Create new action, name it, enlarge canvas size, colour the border thn stop recording. Voila. Works like macros in ms excel.....
