i was trying to capture the mood of the ppl just walking by and not giving a thought about digging into their pocket for some loose change...

pretty sad to see those uncle performing.
in my mind, i was thinking..."haiz...CNY also must come out and work for that ang bao money to give to their grand children..."

interesting subjects and theme (chinatown street buskers)... the photos look a bit "soft" to me, i'm not sure if this is due to lack of image sharpening after scanning. composition-wise, my preference would be get closer and fill the frame with the subject. alternatively, zoom out/use greater wide angle to capture the whole busker in his environment without chopping off his legs. good effort!

thank you guys for the critique.

ah, the first pic is alot sharper than the above.
the second pic is soft even in the actual print.
had a problem with the lighting and was forced to used 1/8 SP at f4.
but i feel 1/8 was good in the sense that i wanted to include the action of people moving around the subject.
shooting with slow film is really interesting, but tiring.

the other limitation was that i shot these with a RF.
yes, Ricoh 500G.

hrmm, if i had a ND filter, the effects might have been dramatised alot more.

the efke is not a c41 b&w film.
the film is actually from croatia and they indicate some weird developer in the instructions. ha. i did not develope these myself, but i assume the person usd d76.

wanted to try more efke film, but unfortunately, there's no more 50 asa. only 25asa and 100asa. :P 25asa will drive me crazy. :P
anyone interested to try the film? can goto www.toxpose.com there's an online shop there. they even have the efke 120 films. :P
