    this my shot pls comment

DSC_0040 and 30 have my vote, unusual angle, interesting face expression and some composition (still can be improved). Other two photo will be in family photo category.

Keep shooting and start to read some of the photographic book.

Here are some of the events for your shooting:

no one hits the ground running. don't be afraid, most of the time if people give nonsensical unwarranted comments they will be weeded out quickly by the moderators.

just a word of advice - when people comment on YOUR SHOTS, they are commenting on YOUR SHOTS, not YOU, so don't have to equate to "this photo is lousy" to "you are lousy", which is a common trap that most newcomers fall into. it's just a shot, if people don't like it, use that negative feeling you feel , leash it to do better. cheers.
Yes, it is truth, ones should be very happy when come to a stage that understand some of his/her old works are really KNS. that is sign of seeking for advancement and achieve some improvment on their photography.

    and should be worry

photos like these, you have to put yourself away as the subject's parent, you will start to see the photos more objectively.

    be critical about yourself.

wrong? throw it away and try again,
no good? throw it away and try again,
not good enough? throw it away and try again,
not perfect? throw it away and try again,

that's the way to move forward.

    hope this help.

Learn to accept criticism with an open heart.

Most of the comments are given out of good-will without any malicious intent, also it is directed at the photograph per se and not towards the photographer as a person. It is usually through constructive criticism that one is able to advance, but i must say some of the criticism here in CS are not constructive. Try to ignore those

Just post your pictures in the respective galleries. I see no point in having a "newbie" gallery, whereby all comments are sugar coated if thats what is implied.

yes, you have to remember that you may attach feelings to photographs because of personal value.

you must learn to put aside this feelings, look at this photograph with fresh eyes - the viewer has no connection with your subject, they do not know what she does, how she is, etc. or how much she can mean to her parent. it is like an examination, in some ways..... you must assume that people do not know anything, and show them what you want them to see.

shooting personal photographs is very different from shooting photographs you wish to show people, well, at least i think it should be.

No wat... I think night86mare explained his point very clearly.

Showing personal photos (eg. of your family members) may not be such a great idea for seeking critique, coz if someone were to criticize the photo negatively, you might be more easily offended.
