富不过三代: Wealth will not last 3 generations.

First Generation earns, Second Generation spends and the Third Generation squanders everything off

Better than people who don't even enjoy 1 generation of wealth, right?

if i have it, great, i will be happy. i will also use it, but take pains not to flaunt it, because it is not what i earned.

if i don't have it, great too. i will not begrudge others for having what i do not have, and i will work hard, if that wealth thing is so important to me. is happiness really defined by wealth? enough is enough for me.
