Hi all MF frens,

1. Would like to say hi to fellow MF fans and hope to share knowledge with u.
2. I am new to Singapore's Mamiya MF traders and service centres
(ie. where to go to clean lenses or other accessories, 2nd hand traders etc.)
in particular in the region of Mamiya RB and RZ set.

hi DaveeD,

u can basically get the best value for MF photographic equipments in ClubSnap's Buy/Sell.
if u were to get it from 2nd hand shop, it would cost way way more.
there are several 2nd hand retailers that does lens cleaning and servicing too, mainly in the Peninsula Plaza area.

Cathay Photo is the main importer for Mamiya in Singapore. u can approach them for servicing and such.

Peninsula - yes i had tried a few times selling some hopeless lenses.
price no good better give it for the needy or keep it as display

Cathay also give me a bom price.

Any service shop at peninsula for good service and decent cost in particular?

thanks

hmm...

can't really advise u on this... but...
i was nearly 'persuaded' to sell off my Mamiya stuff(which i tot was faulty) cheaply at one of the shop in the 2nd level of Peninsula Plaza. he sounded so genuine and tried to make it look as though that my Mamiya was really wrecked. and offered me a very low fee for my precious.

good thing i hold onto my Mamiya and realised that the 'fault' or 'problem' was actually non-existent. i did a check on the net and emailed the Mamiya ppl and got the answer to my problem and that it is actually characteristic of that product. there was nothing wrong with it.

well, if the above's any indication to u....

to be honest, i won't know wat to do if my Mamiya gets wrecked now. most probably i'll jus pass it over to Cathay to get it sorted out. it is afterall, a heavy investment and i just want to be safe...

sorry DaveeD, can't offer much help here.

Try The Camera Workshop for repairs. They did a decent job of fixing my 120 Back once. The staff are definitely some of the nicer people in business and are patient to answer all questions you might ask. Give it a try... I thought Cathay at this time have very good pricing on RB and RZ equipments...

cheers

Wah cant afford buying new mam accessories...
anyway the used ones are generally still reliable
as the mechanics are engineered to be berry berry shiok proof.
except for fungus on the lenses....

cheesecake: 2nd storey peninsula? a very clear directive...

let's jus say...
for my part, i will avoid 2nd floor at all(for direct camera equipments dealing such as repair, buy and sell).
irregardless of whatever they are offering or selling.
u can try though, but i believe u can jus run a check on some of the 2nd floor shops(which there aren't many) in this ClubSnap forum to get a clearer picture of what they are all about.
