nightmare do you have to pick a fight with everyone.
    Are you even in Singapore?

I think this indonesian's crime is quite telling and does echo quite a number of Singaporeans' fears that the casino will lead to vice.
This guy will just be the tip of the iceberg.

    what about monaco?
    i know its a principality,

    with or without the casinos,
we hv so many foreigners committing crimes here.

it has to do with the fact that we r generally richer
    than our neighbours,
    n we r more naive.

the indon didn't even hv to try hard to steal,
n that girl, whose bust might be mightier than her iq
    didn't even realize.

Singapore is always in my heart too, even though each time I enter the country I have to fill out a white card

Hmm... maybe I should check out the casino in SG next time I go back, since I don't have to pay the $100 levy

i know you are, we just saw an interview. next time you fly off you better not comment on anything in singapore hor.

let me put it into perspective. yes, a crime happened. yes, it is casino linked. but don't you think assuming that one swallow signifies summer is here is getting ahead of ourselves?

certainly i am not advocating that crime will never happen or increase as a result of the casino. but here's cold , hard reality - the casino is here, loads of money has gone in, there is nothing much to be done here. what are you going to do? convert the casino into an indoor theme park and hope it floats? doubt that'd work either.

que sera sera. whatever will be will be. this has gone beyond the stage where fearing actually makes any difference. what's important is that everyone keeps a firm eye on the situation, and ensures that measures are taken in reaction when the situation starts to stray.

that's simpler then just doom prophecies of "loansharks running amok, prostitutes flocking to hdb estates". won't you agree?
the thread didn't start with people "doomsay"ing
You just love to bait people, to instigate reactions from people.
    I really don't understand why.

Do you seriously believe what you post all the time?
Or do you just love the feeling of riling people up and then convincing yourself that you're superior when you put people down and then drown out a whole thread with an inane argument over semantics

This type will also rob, if he thinks he can get away with it.
He could have wasted his money on many other things. It just happened to be the casino, this time.
In future we will see stabbing with knives in robbery when they learn that stealing does not work.

It is an act of a desperado. They may have done similar things in their own country and have gotten away with it.

It is just that the casino attracts this type of low-life. Casino in itself is not bad.
They come and hope to win at the casino. If they lose, they rob or steal to cover their losses. Then go back and gamble again. It becomes a recurrent pattern.

We want the rich big spenders from China/Taiwan/Korea/Indonesia/Thailand/HK to gamble in our casinos.
    Not the problematic low-life.

Maybe should pass a new rule that citizens of a certain country can only go into the casino if they can prove bank balance of (edited) at least Sing$30,000. Otherwise no entry. This will prevent thousands of unsavoury types from there creating new crime problems here.
