Default surprise surprise - RAW viewer for WinXP

Didn't check out MS site for a long time.
found RAW viewer (thumbnail and viewer) and it actually works on Canon CR2.
The config also allows Nikon RAW too (but I cannot test it).

What a surprise. Finally something useful from MS :P

Are you referring to the Microsoft RAW Image Thumbnailer and Viewer for Windows XP?

Windows Live Photo Gallery actually supports a greater number of raw codecs from the camera manufacturers as compared to the former.

Yes. I was in fact looking for an update to the Photo gallery for Vista then stumbled across the power toys etc for XP. Indeed I am not the sort who keeps track of the latest sw update so only realise this tool today. :P

    Orion,

thanks for the info. especially needed cos i am using a few computers at home, and this is espcially useful on those machines i am not using to work on my photos. only simply have to store all my camera-downloaded images to the network drive.

    cheers!
