Shoot-Out!

Fellow CS members, i am trying to organise a paintball outing for fellow members here. For the uninitiated, you can head over to Tag Paintball's website to check out what it is supposed to be.

Anyhow, here is a brief rundown. It's a 3 vs 3 or 5 vs 5 game where players form 2 teams. Each player is equiped with a full face mask, a chest protector and a paintball gun that fires paint pellets @ 328km/h. In each game, each gun contains 100 pellets. Each game will have a mission and withthe given resources and the team you are with, you need to come together, plan your tactics and see if you can execute it. (It's like playing Counter-Strike but this is as close as it gets to the real thing!)

Being hit by the paint pellet is a pretty painful affair. It leaves a very nasty bruise that will linger for a week or so... therefore, please understand that this outing isn't for softies. Members of both gender, feel free to join us but i must caution you that you need to be 18 and above to play.

As for pricing, here is a rough gauge:

Min: Group of 6
Max: Group of 10

So it's either 3 vs 3 or 5 vs 5.

Entrance/Rental fee for Guns/vest, unlimited CO2 & face mask:
SGD$20 per person for the entire duration.

Paintballs: SGD$400 for 2000 pellets (Additional pellets can be bought though i don't think we need that much.)

Cost of pellets per person -> SGD$400/10 = $40
Rental/Entrance Fee -> SGD$20

So, for 10 persons, that amounts to SGD$60++ per person.

For 2000 pellets, that roughly translate to about 2 hrs or more of game time.

Each time can load about 100 pellets so a rough calculation would be about 20 rounds of shooting? Hehehe... So actually, a group of 20 can go, and 10 will take turns to play while the other 10 can watch.

If 20 persons go, that will be about SGD$40+ per head.

Cost of pellets per person -> SGD$400/20 = $20
Rental/Entrance Fee -> SGD$20

So, if everyone is clear, feel free to slot your name in but please do not backout last minute as bookings have to be made. The date of this shoot will be in April, and one of the following 4 days will be chosen.

(Sat)10th, (Sun)11th, (Sat)17th or (Sun)18th of April.

Once it has been decided and booked with the organiser, i will update everyone accordingly.At the same time, i am trying to secure a special rate (if possible but no promises. )

So, here we go. It's a chance for anyone (Male &or Female) to sign up, join us, and let's shoot the hell out of each other. I can imagine quite a few members whow ould one to take a pot shot at some of the names on the list already.

Confirmation

Hello everyone. The date is hereby confirmed to be on the 11th of April on a Sunday. The shootout will commence @ 1400 Hrs or 2:00PM sharp. The location is @ Orchid Country Club.

Transportation

There is a shuttle bus service between Orchid Country Club and Yishun MRT which operates every 10-15 minutes. Just wait at the bus stop outside the Yishun MRT station (you can see a signboard with the shuttle times) and you can hop on the shuttle bus when it trundles along. However, the shuttle bus stops a way inside Orchid Country Club, thus you have to walk out (less than 5 mins) to the entrance where the Paintball arena is.

Shooters;

This highly anticipated event is 3 days away and i would like to remind everyone that pulling out at the very last minute is discouraged as the number has to be exactly 20. No more, no less.

As i have already paid a deposit on the behalf of all players, i would kindly suggest that if anyone of you have anything that might crop up, please please notify me in advance by posting in this thread.

hmm paintball.. just to say some of my experiences... I hope the guns are calibrated to the right speed otherwise it will really hurt (probably the organizers take care of that) . never fire at close range . wear army fatigues no.4, it helps.
