What to do as background???

I am looking for background material (white/black or or colours) for my food shots.

What materials should I use and where can I get them?

try getting those construction papers from popular bookshop

Those are too distracking I wouldn't spend your money on that. Just get some construction paper or some plain bed sheets. That way if you get food on anything you can just throw your background away.
