Thread: Is this worth for a 2008 MacBook pro?

  1. #1

Default Is this worth for a 2008 MacBook pro?

I was thinking of getting a basic, reliable model for portability, store on the spot, show Client previews and discuss using CS3 or 4 ...

    Is this a fair price?

    Broken link?

Maybe consider a similar spec windows os laptop instead?

I use my vista gateway notebook for anything from basic 3d rendering to tethered shoots and it's serving me well with no major problems.

I remember seeing the link yesterday, someone selling the macbook on clubsnap, must have been removed. My personal opinion is that it is alway better to get a macbook or any other laptop that has warranty.

Alamak! Sorry. The thread must have been removed liao.

Got one person selling a 2008 MBP for $1.6K, 4 GB RAM and a whole lot of other tech specs which means I dunno what.

Basically, I noticed that lappys color not really accurate, and cannot calibrate.

Was thinking of getting a basic (but reliable aka stable) model to:

    1) show Clients previews on the spot
    2) demo options in post processing so Clients can make decisions on the spot),
    3) store the photos from each shoot (before coming back to transfer to my PC-based processing station).

I used to use Macs for close to 20 years, but that was along time ago leh.

Is there such a thing as what I require for less than say $800? Please dun hamtam me ah, I really donch know Mac market.

I saw that thread before it was removed.
It was an older version MacBook Pro Core2Duo, 2.4Ghz, 15".
I am a new MacBook Pro user. So I really am in no position to comment on the $1600 price tag.
