    Sunset @ harbour front harbour

    1. in what area is critique to be sought?

I will like feedback on the composition and the post processing techniques.
I have composed and done some post processing to enhance the contrast of the photo to show a warmer slient/ quiet harbour after the end the day.

    2. what one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?

I want to create a relax and warm feeling for the viewers that the harbour can be a nice and relax place to look @ at the end of the day when the sun sets. I want to users to feel the nice warm and quiet ambiance of the harbour

    3. under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)

I was on my way towards harbour front centre when the scene capture my eye it gave me a realx and warmth kind of feeling and i decided to take the scene.

    4. what the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture

I feel that the picture can be better in terms of compositions and color.

I welcome all feedbacks as i am still new in photography. Thanks

lovely light but the image seems all props without anything 'anchoring' it

this is one of the situations where a telephoto will do well isolating parts of a scene where it transpires your aims

    best wishes !

    too much going on here.

like ed says, isolation would work better, if the scene is so cluttered.

like that sky, and the things it does to the sea and ships
newbie here too, jus wanna share abit. just like the others above i feel that u should give it a tighter crop, for instance that left part of the photo (that portion of pulau brani and that round jetty-like thing) could be omitted. in that way maybe my eyes would be directed to the ships and the skies instead of helter-skeltering all over the photo. other cropping ways could work too, u could explore

I think the use of a telephoto to capture the ship would give more impact to the photo. great light, but there is just too many things in this photo

    Nice
I'd prefer to crop away the cloud portion and leave the horizon on the upper third. The clouds don't add much and in fact can act to lead the eye around to view it.

As like the previous post, i feel that the horizon need not be at the middle of the picture. Think it might be better if the horizon is located 1/3 of the pic
(showing 1/3 sky and 2/3 harbour). Also if you wan to emphasize on the warm and relax feeling ( 1/3 harbour and 2/3 sky).
    But nice picture overall. =)
