Home is where the heart is.
Every field has it's own art and craft. To me, technology is closer to being a craft. Master your craft requires in depth understanding and constant practice of your skills and tools (which may or may not include technology). Technology can simplify old processes and brings new possibilities for craft. Art is the creative process of making use of your craft to come out with the end product. Both has its role to play.
At the end of the day, I suppose, as technology advances, it opens new ways for us to be even more creative.
So, if our first forefather, the caveman, hadn't carved out a wheel from a stone, I'll be needing slaves to carry me on my chariot. But thanks to him, I'm able to use a wheelchair to move around.
BOTTOMLINE : We canNOT afford to NOT have technology. Else we won't have a digital camera to capture the hot rods in Formula1 or the hotshots piloting the flying machines come Singapore Air Show!
Thanks guys for the deliberation. Will try to close this matter once and for all.
