Default What's the price of a shutter replacement?

I was wondering how much it costs to replace the shutter on the Nikon DSLRs when they fail. Would it be covered by the Harvey Norman extended warranty?

Bring your warranty proof from Harvey to Nikon for repair.
Nikon will advise you further.

Actually, in situations like that, you should approach Harvey Norman first, not Nikon. The manufacturer usually has nothing to do with extended warranties.

I was just wondering if it was worth it to go for the extended warranty at $210. How much is it to replace the shutter?

Nikon's shutters are very durable. They seldom need replacement. Though may require calibration to work at its intended speeds.

http://nikon.virtualpresscentre.co.uk/pressreleases/84.shtml

For example.. the F5's shutter lifespan was supposed to be 150,000 cycles.. after which it would have to be recalibrated to maintain the 1/8000 and 8fps speed. However the shutter can last way past the 150K mark.. and it has been proven.
