    If we travel with people who are active in helping out, a little flexibility helps. But if the people are all flaccid and passive, a comprehensive ops plan helps.

    I will send my trip mates a 20 page summary of the country, then a 5 page trip detail, which I insist they print out. That way, everyone knows what we are doing in the trip.

    Makes for less quarrels.

    I usually limit my research to "what's the fair price to pay for xxxxxxx", local laws, and high-crime areas... other than those three, all the rest are to be explored by foot

    That's why it stinks to travel as a group IMO hehe.

    Funny thing is, I prefer to research really deep using Google or any other tools to find out all I can (print out maps, etc) about the place before heading there whereas my other half is a bit more lazy but when there, I can take a bus heading nowhere whereas my other half prefers to have specific plans and things to do
