    Default DoF changes with teleconverter mounted?

    Hey guys, just wanna ask something pretty simple.

    For example, I have an 85mm/f1.4, so therefore it achieves a DoF that a f/1.4 lens would.

    However, if I slap on a 2x teleconverter, yes, I lose 2 stops of light, which equates to around f/2.8.

    The question: Does the DoF change to what an f/2.8 lens would achieve, or would it retain the DoF that a f/1.4 lens would?

    Calculate it as a 170/2.8 with the same CoC diameter.

    It is abit difficult to do comparison in this instance, since the focal length is increased by the teleconverter as well. The increased focal length will appear to have shallower depth of field because of perspective flattening.
