iPOD Microdrive

Does anyone have a difinative answer on whether this can work ?

i.e. taking out the 4gb micro-drive and reformatting to FAT32 for use in a digi-cam.

Don't know about the Ipod Mini but people have cannibalized Creative MuVo's. I think the Ipod Mini has the same drive. Being Apple i'm sure it's made much better than the Creative.

The answer is YES it can be done. Some time ago I posted a thread on OCAU with a link to an article in Fred Miranda's Forums. Unfortunately I just followed that link and FM has taken it offline

Here is a dissection of the Mini-Ipod on IpodLounge. Looks as if the author could not get his 4GB Microdrive to work on his 300D but I don't think he tried too hard. People have been able to do it with the MuVo so I think it should be OK.

but with the ipod mini kind of pricing why not just buy a 4gb MD or muvo?
