For all the new D70 owners, can check how fast is the shuttle lag of the D70? Is it faster than 300D?

![]() However, I find that the mirror and shutter mechanism is too damped, and pardon me for the language, it's so well damped that it's kinda...... sissy. ps: Before anyone starts to shoot me, that's only in my opinion. ![]() |

You like loud shutters so much, should have bought a F90X.....it'll probably be your idea of a man's camera.

ehh.. let get back on topic.. I have noticed no shutter lag on the D70. It is almost instantenous.. but I would really like to take it out for a field test to really confirm.. |

Mirrors are ideally as dampened as they can be, to reduce vibrations when shooting. Some cameras, in particular the fast ones, are constrained by the need to move the mirror faster to enable high frame rates, which means it's harder to dampen a faster moving mirror thereby resulting in louder mirror slap.

![]() But again, I don't think loud shutter is my idea of a man's camera. Why I use the word "sissy" is that I can't find any other word to describe the way the shutter sounds, the other word probably being "wimpy". In fact, why not woman's camera, why man? Sorry, tongue in cheek. Just ignore me. |

I've touched the D1x and D2H, I can say I'm sadist, but I love the shutter sound.
I also like the responsiveness on the D*x/H series. On -> Sleep -> Press Full. Camera wakes up, AF's, fire as you push it down. This is almost applicable on all the Nikon DSLRs I've every played with... ooo I'm wanking, I'm wanking! ![]() Early morning equipment measurbation is not good. ![]() |
