It was nice to see old friends at Khatib Bongsu today.
The shooting condition was tough as there were lots of land mines around. Sometimes there was no choice but to shoot among the land mines and to bear with the smell! I love to see little egret hunting. Why? They run around with their wings opened, jumped, changed directions etc ..... lots of drama and still managed to get the fishes. Hope to share them with you. For all the images, I exposed for the white so as to control the amount of overexposed area and used PS CS to level the overall exposure in the final images. 1) Little Egret running 1 ![]() 2) Little Egret running 2 ![]() 3) Little Egret jumped in the air ![]() 4) Little egret washing its bill? Hunting? ![]() By the way, little egret in Singapore hunt quite differently from their counterparts in Parit Jawa, Malaysia from what I have seen. The Singapore verion will use its leg to disturb the water and go after the fish when the fish is spotted running away. The Malaysia version would slant its body to one side and go for the fish like an arrow out from the bow. Well......enjoy! Cheers! Last edited by skfoo; 28th February 2004 at 11:47 PM. |

Harlequin/chngpe01,
Thanks for the comments. White is no longer a taboo subject in digital photography. Cheers! |

great shots, with good exposure. Able to bring out the white subject without being overexposed. My favourite shot is the first one.

Viewfinder,
Thanks for the comments. It is easier to achieve such exposure now due to technical improvements in the area of digital photography. ![]() |
