Lightbulb Interested in getting cheaper cameras n accessories off Ebay from US?

I'm studying in new york right now and I relaised that the prices of lenses and camera bodies are more expensive in singapore than new york, which is surprising, esp for medium format, and alot of stuff is not available in singapore

Anyway I usually buy my stuff second hand off eBay,(own a Rollei 6003 SRC1000 now), and I return to Singapore twice a year
Perhaps if anyone is interested in purchasing cameras or lenses off eBay and willing to give me a comission I'll bring it back for them. (next trip back, July)

drop me an email at the_furies@hotmail.com

Hello Matt,

How about if you offer your services to send stuff from B&H back for our deprived Club Snappers for a commission. I am not talking about the camera bodies or lenses, but the tons of original camera accessories that we will never find from here in Singapore that are so readily available there. Maybe other stuff like lightmeters, flash accessories or even film like Kodak's Porta 400UC. I for one can send you payments in cash.

Accessories are fine too.
there's sales tax in B&H though,
so it adds another 8.625 percent to whatever you see on the website price
email me and maybe we can work something out

the only film I bought hwen I went back was NPH 400, that's slightly cheaper in singapore. superia in new york is only like 2 bucks US, superia xtra 400
if I'm correct it's at least 5 singapore dollars back home

this is awesome.

alot of stuffs in Ebay are much cheaper than singapore.

but the problem in buying in Ebay (from singapore) is that you can't physically check the item. Especially lenses, you don't know if it's true as what the seller says in the ad.

I believe you can help us check the condition of the item, and do a transaction in NY, then send over to singapore. of course, i'm sure people here will be willing to pay a little more for you service, since i believe the overall cost will still be lower than buying locally.

ultimately, nothing beats the physical checking of the item.

I actually prefer buying my stuff off ebay, you save quite a dime.
I basically got my medium format system (used) off ebay for half the price I would pay for it (used) at any camera store here
more respectable sellers tend to use a proper system of rating their camera conditions, but not all can be trusted. my Rollei SRC1000 camera had a few specks of dust in the lens (in spite of the seller saying it was flawless), but for the price I had to pay for it I'm not complaining.

sometimes it's a matter of luck also, I say if you're interested in something on ebay always make sure that the guy has good ratings and sells camera stuff
there are alot of people out there who have good ratings from selling toys, and one day they decide to sell a camera.
