The cat is really cute and I like the angle(what's your posture when u shot this ).
Better if used shallow dof AND if possible remove the plastic bag first.

you can imagine how low i am when i took this photo.
my cam can't really control the dof and i prefer not to change the surroundings to suit my picture. leave it as it is... more natural.

Contrary to popular opinion thus far, I find the background more telling of the cat and her home.

Such shots tell a story to different people. No need to go for shallow DOF in this instance.
