Default Format your Smartmedia to Panorama!

Hi,

In order to repair my PC-formatted smartmedia cards, I bought a second hand smartmedia card reader for US$4.00 (shipping? S$20+ )

Now my cards are repaired! And my Silicon Power brand Smartmedia has panaroma feature!

So if anyone has a non-olympus smartmedia card, I can "add" this feature for you free of charge! Yeah, I know...Smartmedia is going the way of the dodo.

Read here for details.

http://www.marshost.com/~rashmun/smprep.htm

Anyway, I own a C730UZ.

i have tried to "add" this feature using a datawise card reader without success and it permanently damaged one of my cards....

so do try at your own risk!!

however, i have read many successes with zio card reader, what is your brand?? i might be interested to have a try.... which area are you at??

I'm using Sandisk SDDR-09.

I downloaded the hacked formatting files, format my screwed up cards, and tada!

I live in Tanah Merah area, BTW...

I'm glad you rescued your cards. Do you think you can send me the smprep? I want to try and resuscitate my card. Or can I pass you my card? I'm ready to bury it already.

As mentioned, I'm using Sandisk SDDR-09 card reader/writer for formatting of my cards. Non-Olympus cards, when formatted, gain the ability of panorama! Cool, but it's a function I've never used,.

If I know where it's sold in Singapore, I wouldn't buy it from USA.
